WAITING FOR TOBY...(A disjointed blogpost)

GREETINGS FROM SUNNY SOUTH AFRICA!
MAXMOM here...

Hello there to all my friends across the wold!
If I've not visited your blogs lately, please forgive me...I am directing all my available resources towards a really big writing project at the moment. As they say...I have to "Make hay while the sun shines"!
Thankfully I'm making excellent progress and I am really hoping that Maxdog's book will eventually emerge in the manner in which I am planning....
Only time will tell!

---xXx---

We are having a serious bout of "Puppy Fever" in our household at the moment and I really can't wait for TOBY PUPPY's sweet little nature to fill the rooms of our home. I have calculated that if all goes well,he'll arrive around the 27th September 2010 - 3 weeks away - our "Heritage Day"!  How apt!
---xXx---
Our two other pooches have been taking life really easy.

Both TAMMY-GIRL and KING-TOFFEE are entering their golden years, but both are still very active....
(Can you spot TOFFEE in the picture above????)
"Eish! But it's a hard life!"
But we really do need some youthful vitality amongst the canine pack, don't we?!

Although TAMMY keeps a good eye on me nowadays and stays at my side during the day, she demands her afternoon walks! They are not negotiable!
Since there are only two dogs in our household at the moment, I have been taking the KING along too. He's loving it, but unfortunately doesn't have enough liquid reserves to mark all the plants along the way! LOL!
The walks have made me realise that I need to give serious consideration as to how I am going to walk all three of them, in the weeks to come...?
---xXx---

Spring is just around the corner!!!...

(Oops! Sorry! Wrong picture!)
Let's try again...

---xXx---

SPRING IS HERE!!!
The weaver bird now has a total of eight nests!
(Yes...he built them all himself!)
One can't be too prepared when it comes to feathered females!
He really is such an amazing little creature! He's occupied our garden for a number of years now and each year, it's the same procedure...more and more nests!...which frequently get stripped and re-built!
---xXx---
So whilst we pace out the weeks ahead, lets remind ourselves what TOBY looks like...
And two of his sisters...

So sleepy!

And I just had to repeat one of my all-time favourites...

Sending lotsaluv to you all!

"TOBY".....PUPPY OVERLOAD!

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXMOM here...
Hello there everyone...
We drove across the city again today for my weekly dose of "Puppy"!
The pups are 5 WEEKS OLD now and they have, once again, grown so much.  They all weigh over 4kgs at the moment.
They are so beautiful!...especially mine!
(but then again, I am biased!)
and it seems that I've almost settled on the name...

"TOBY"

He reminds me of the chocolate; "Toblerone"!
I'm not sure if you get this particular chocolate in your countries, but it is really yummy!
Smooth (like his fur) and creamy looking (like him)
"Toby" is also a character from one of my favourite childhood storybooks. I spent a lot of time reading and re-reading that particular little book when I was a child.
(like the amount of time I will be spending with Toby too)
But most of all - it suits my little pup!!!
He is so laid back - like I would be when savouring a piece of this particularly creamy, white chocolate.
Yes....I think he will be called

my..."TOBY"

(Sleeping on Mom's chest)

(Playing in the wood pile)
(Shoving for snout rubs.)

(Look deep into my eyes..."I'm yours, Mom!')
(Sleepy puppy)
("I don't mind being walked over!")
(Standing in line for the water bowl..mmm...?)
(Sleeping in the water bowl)
I have to wait another three, long weeks before Toby comes home to us.
Please keep your paws crossed that he'll remain healthy and vital during that time.
Sending lotsaluv to you all...

A QUICK CAT-CHY POST...

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXMOM here...

Hello there to all my friends across the world!
No, this is not a kitty blog!...but a little diversion from my normal posts.

I've been rather busy in the past two days and apologise for my absence.
I thought I'd surprise you all with this special kitty picture...

You see, this is "Monty" - our Vet's cat - a kitty that really touches my heart.
He was originally a rescue kitty and has been the heart of our Vet's waiting room for a number of years.
He's the largest cat I have ever seen and he is formidable in his determination to assess every patient that enters the premises.  Indeed he has become quite a legend in his environment.

The reason I'm posting a picture of him is that I know he is sick at the moment.
I am not sure what his prognosis is, but I just wanted to pay tribute to this beautiful creature and the joy he has brought to all our lives whilst we have anxiously waited for our own pets to be attended to.  I am very fond of him and I do hope that he will get better soon.
Get well Monty!

---xXx---

Have a wonderful weekend!

SPRING IS HERE!

GREETINGS FROM A SUNNY SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXMOM here...
Hello there to all my friends across the world!
SPRING IS DEFINITELY HERE!!!
There are flowers and new shoots popping up everywhere...

Even the daffodils from last year have reappeared...
Our resident weaver bird is well prepared for warmer weather and his anticipated host of suitors.
He has already constructed six nests ...
...and of course there is a distinct twinge of 'Puppy Fever' in the air...

If you haven't seen yesterday's post, please scroll down and take a look at all the puppy pictures. Otherwise click:
HERE
Also...don't forget to take a look at the video in the header above!

The arrival of my new puppy is still 4 long weeks away.
4 weeks to go!... and counting!

Today's good news however is that...
ASTA
(the little guide dog/service dog-in-training)
came to visit us again ...
She too is growing in leaps and bounds!
She is 9 weeks old now and already knows how to 'sit' and 'down'!
Wow!

She's quite playful too...
...and TAMMY-GIRL and her had a wonderful romp together...

It's the first time, since MAXDOG's departure that I've seen TAMMY-GIRL play like she did. It was a joy to behold and my heart was truly warmed to watch them.  I think she is more than ready for a new pup in her life...
Even KING TOFFEE is full of the joys of Spring...
So it seems that, all-in-all...
LIFE'S GOOD!!!...

Sending lots of Spring joy to everybody!
