HE GROWS IN LEAPS AND BOUNDS!

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXMOM here...
Hello there to all my friends!
Oh Boy!

The puppies have grown in leaps and bounds!
I took the half hour journey across our city with Lorraine this morning
to get my weekly dose of puppy-breath ...
What  a treat!!!

The Golden Puppies are now just over
THREE WEEKS OLD!!!

They are the most adorable little things I have ever seen!
...Especially my special little one!...
(Lorraine holding my puppy)

Isn't he absolutely beautiful!
Even at this tender age, he has gripped my heart and squeezed it tight to let me know that he is the one!!!

He now weights 2750grams
(Having weighed about 500-600g at birth)

Although ALL the puppies are truly lovely, unfortunately I only seem to have eyes for him.

I have so many pictures to show you, so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...

'Yes! You are mine!"
"You really do need a name!
...a special name!"
"What shall I call you?"
"We still have five weeks to decide!"
"Oh, I love you so much already!"
Now here's a thing...

I haven't chosen a name for him yet. I thought I'd wait until his little personality emerges.
Well, it did today...

He is a chunky, little fluffpot who is absolutely adorable!
He is totally laid back and has a more submissive and calm temperament than his siblings. He's cuddly, plump (as a puppy should be) and is probably going to be a bit of a couch potatoe!
He LOVES his food!

I want a name that reflects his temperament.  He is so warm in nature but when I think of him, I imagine a smooth ice-cream with a little exotic flavour...perhaps with a shot of liqueur. It could also be a type of latte, coffee or smoothie.  I imagine a sunset where the mood is calm and serene.
I want a name with two syllables and it needs to be a "soft" sounding name.
I  know the right name is out there somewhere, but I can't put my finger on it. The closest name I have at the moment is "Chino" (as in cuppachino) but I'm not certain yet.

I know I've asked before, but now that we know him a little better,
do you have any suggestions?????

I would love to hear from you...please!
More pictures....

He loves his brother!
These two boys are often seen sleeping with their heads together.

My heart is already sold!
...it was sold from day one!
What will your name be, little one?

---xXx---
Once again, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Zena and Alan at
RUFFITWOOD GOLDEN RETRIEVERS
for allowing me this unique privilege to watch my little pup grow.
You have no idea what this means to me!
With grateful thanks,

Oh so much cuteness - and I really needed it today so this is the perfect post for me to visit! And don't worry the right name will come! My suggestion - Wally. Wally in my mind is a laid back, easy going guy - solid and you can count on him. But fun too. So that is my contribution to the name game!

Puppy breath - nothing like it, should be a fragrance sold in exclusive Paris shops. Love the puppy pictures. Your new boy sounds like a smooth operator. Willow is a smooth sounding name; of course he would be Will or Willy for short. But honestly, when it comes to naming pups (I've named 3 in my life), it always comes from a most unexpected source - deep inside one's self. Everybody else's suggestions are valuable, but...well, they belong to someone else.....!

Oh my!

*SIGH!*

I'm sure your khountry's heritage/languages has some words to tie in with your vision of his name -

Mom says growing up - when she wanted to have a buff kholoured Cocker Spaniel one day - she had already selekhted the name CHAMOIS -

Good Lukhk!

I'm with Shelia and Bob, it's a cuteness overload!!! I'm here at work, and I'm supposed to be working and couldn't help but come back for another peak...
They are just so very precious!!! I'll try to think of a name too but right now all I can think of is aaaawwwwww!!! :-)

Leaps and bounds - he sounds like my kind of a fellow!
As for names, on the coffee theme, we thought of Pucci (Poochie) but then thought that sounded a bit too much like poo!
We'll keep working on it.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
PS from Gail - that picture of you tickling his tummy and gently touching his mouth, and him with his paws crossed, has to be the best!

Okay, I'm back for my 3rd moment of cuteness and the name popped into my head when I was here the first time, but I didn't think I'd suggest it, but have changed my mind...My suggestion is the name "Irish," which would be short for Irish Coffee, and as you may know is a coffee spiked with Irish whiskey, with cream on top and is a drink that warms you up plenty on a cold winter night. :-))

Ohmidogness! What sweet, squishy, cuddly puppy goodness! I just want to snuggle with him. Thank you for sharing him with us, Maxmom! I just luvs watching him grow.

Okay, as fur names, mom has always been partial to the name Winston. Which has nothing to do with coffee but still a good name.

And then, cuz she's weird, she got online and looked up stuffs about coffee and coffee drinks. Here's a few:

Madras - A common brew in the south of India, Indian filter coffee is made from rough ground, dark-roasted coffee Arabica or Peaberry beans.

Melya - A coffee mixed with 1 teaspoon of unsweetened powdered cocoa and drizzled honey. Sometimes served with cream.

Kona - a Hawaiian coffee

Um, yeah...so that prolly wasn't much help but we tried!

mayzie

I absolutely adore that face. Who could resist him. What a cute picture of he and his brother head to head. Awwww. I think I'll have to come back and look at these pictures again for a big ole dose of cute and cuddly.
Have you considered looking back in his lineage for a name? The perfect name will come to you.

I'm speechless! You said it all...everything I would have said. He's the cutest thing EVER and I'm so addicted to puppy breath - I miss it, but I remember the sweet smell of new doggie - what a great pup you have! I think it takes a long time to name a puppy dog because they are still evolving and developing so much personality as they grow older. I think you'll be able to decide better in a few more weeks as he gets up to more shenanigans, maybe?

Congratulations!!!! I'm so happy for you!

Caryl, that little one will help you choose his name and it will be the perfect name. It will hit you like a ton of bricks and you'll wonder why you didn't think of the name sooner.

I have to tell you - I ENVY YOU!

BTW, how is Lorraine's little one coming along?

Oh wow, MaxMom!

The photos are so beautiful! The lil one is surely growing fast and getting more and more handsome everytime. His face is so gentle and we love your photo together.

Thank you so much for taking us with you to visiting him through the great photos.

My question is...how could you even drag yourself away when it was time to go home? He is just adorable. We had a pale blonde cocker named Robbie after Robert Redford because he was blonde and adorable, just like his namesake!

Maybe India? After India Pale Ale!

Your pal,

Petey

I love these puppy posts! His face is so CUTE! All puppies are adorable, but I think you've picked a winner! And him cuddling with is brother! OH! too cute!
Names... thats tough! Good luck with your decision!

I love Chino!!! What a unique name that certainly describes him.
He is the color of creama on an espresso....Cappi is another descriptive name...of his color.
As everyone else has said he'll help you name him...it will just dawn on you one day and that will be it.
He is absolutely adorable!!!!

My goodness Maxmom! All that snuggling makes me soooo jealous! I'll be thinking on the name front.

How about the name Bailey - like Baileys Irish Cream liquer, as he looks so soft and creamy and is definitely something special. Of course I'm partial to any name that ends in "i-l-e-y" and my mum seems to have found all sorts of tones to say the "ley" part of my name depending on what I'm up to with her Kiwi accent!

You are so lucky to have weekly visits to see your puppy. His breeders have given you a wonderful gift in allowing you to know your new puppy all his life.

Thanks for all the photos - mum loves seeing them, and makes all sorts of aww and arr noises - I think she wants to get me a puppy too.

Woofs,
Riley

Lots of good suggestions in the comments. But we still think the name needs to come from you AND it will. Mr Puppy is just too cute. Mom keeps going over and over the photos and trying to tickle his tummy. We bet you can't wait for your next visit.

I think I'd name him Bailey - as in Bailey's Irish Cream, but soon he will tell you his name. I can hardly wait to see more photos - I love puppies!!

Hi MaxMom

Those puppy photos are just gorgerous! He is such a cute little thing!

We immediately thought of the name 'Bailey' - a great Irish liquer - that is great in coffee, on the rocks or poured over ice-cream! Creamy, dreamy and yummy!

We see you have two other suggestions for the name Bailey as well - a popular choice by the look of things!

However, we're sure the 'right' name will come to you!

lots of love

When I look at him, I'm always hearing "Butter" in my head. He seems a bit like a Butter, Baxter or Bentley to me. I don't know exactly why, though! Whatever you decide to call him, he's still cuter than should be legal!

Cuteness Overload for sure!! How sweet! There is nothing quite as soothing as holding a puppy and feeling it's little heart beating and the puppy breath is wonderful! I love it!! I am just so excited for you! I am horrible at picking out names but I saw where some picked Bailey and that came to me too because years ago when I went to the beach, I ran up to this couple because they had a beautiful Golden Retriever named Bailey! Of course, it's up to you and I know the name will come to you out of the blue when the time comes. Thanks for sharing the puppy pictures!! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly

He's still so tiny but wow, he's grown! Such a cutie!

The name Chino is cute! I have a Chico and while I probably wouldn't have given him that name myself, it seems to fit him.

I don't have any suggestions but I think you'll find the perfect name for him, no matter what you decide.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this little one grow.

I'm not good with names. But if I were to call it like I saw it, his name would be "Maxmom Love".
I am so happy for you!

You are so very lucky to have the chance to watch your little guy grow. Those eyes look barely open - almost as if he's sleepy.

Most of all, I love to see you hugging him. He looks like he loves you already too!

Just so that you can appreciate the contrast, I'll share that my K tried to hide behind a washing machine the first time that she saw me. Let's just say that it took a few days before we cuddled like you and your pup did!
