GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
MAXMOM here...
Suddenly the house is empty. All is quite and reality sets in. It’s been a hard couple of months – committed, determined and endless hours of hard work towards the finish line of the MAXDOG journey. The past two weeks have hardly allowed my feet to touch the ground. It’s been surreal.
But now I am alone – and it’s a Saturday night without my precious loved ones. The contrast is shattering – like when you hit that ‘red’ stop button on a treadmill. Suddenly your world comes to an abrupt halt and you feel like you want to fall over.
You see, my family are at the seaside as I write this – sharing precious time together. And me? I am sitting here - alone in my homesickness. I really am missing them.
You might well ask…Why this situation?
What was the prize for bargaining away this time together with my family? Why would someone choose this when they can be with their loved ones? Maybe my choice wasn’t such a wise one after all.
The value of time together is unmeasurable. Good relationships and companionable, precious moments are treasured more than all the diamonds in the world. One only realises just how valuable it is when they are suddenly absent.
So what bargained it away?
The answer: A short, 6-8 minute interview on TELEVISION for the benefit of MAXDOG.
Is this fair bargain?
Somehow, as I sit here in the deafening silence of the house, with just the dogs to keep me company and waiting for Tuesday, I am not so sure I made the right choice.

Make yourself a nice cuppa, take a looong bubble bath... & enjoy your "me" time.
I would second the 'nice cuppa' suggestion, then sit back and contemplate your good fortune in having a family who you miss so quickly and so badly, and who you will be seeing again very soon.
Cheers, Gail.
Hold on there gal,,,it's just the shock of the silence. You get an old favorite book to read and snuggle with your babies. Loll around, do nothing, bake cookies and then eat them all. You will be fine!
Hang in there MaxMom all this sufferin is for a good reason!
At least you have the pups to keep you company!
Hey, the pups ARE goin on vaca with you right?
You will do PAWSOMELY on TV!
woos, Tessa
Hi Caryl, you have made the right decision cause your family are all behind you in that decision. Just hug your doggies, have your interview and you will be back together soon. For now, lay back, get a book out, chocolate at the ready? Beautiful. No worries, and love, Carol (and Stella and Rory)
Seriously, we don't know what to tell you. First....isn't it nice that you have such a wonderful family and that when they are not around, you MISS them so much.
Many don't have that.
Second....there are sacrifices you need to make for MAXDOG. This sacrifice may be just what will help someone to decide to buy your book and then through it, they may get a special comfort.
It is a win lose win situation and we are proud of all you have done to get to this place, even though for a short while, you are alone.
And not really alone cause all your web supporters are here. I mean if your desperate....hehe
Good Job.......Really Good Job
Bert
Hi Caryl, If I lived nearby I'd definitely be keeping you company!!! I'm thankful you have the dogs though, wouldn't want you alone. Have a relaxing weekend and hopefully before you know it Tuesday will be here.
Hugs & love, Noreen & Reggie

I think you should treat youself to something special today - just enjoy the fact that you can just 'be' for a while, without any chores or responsibilities! I will be glued to the screen for your interview, can't wait! Sending you loads of good wishes!! xx
Your feeling torn- aren't you?
Are you feeling lost?
We are all here- beside you.
Just remember this was all ment to be- for so many reasons- that you may never know about.
Take a deep breath- and let it be.
