OTHER GENERAL NEWS:

Our festive season has been punctuated by some thunderous storms across the Johannesburg landscape.  The skies have produced some truly creative and heavenly showpieces:

(Above: Our local park)

Below:
After the storm, even the rainbows appear unusual:

On Christmas Day, Toby spent hours enjoying his BONE, whilst we had our own culinary feast...
Afterwards, he took control over the lounging chairs in the garden...
But vigilant dogs shouldn't go to sleep with their bones unattended!
Clever Aunt TAM retreated to a cool corner in the garden, dug a hole and buried TOBY's bone...

The sluthful Matriach!

KING TOFFEE checked out a gift fit for a King...'Twas the Boss's Christmas gift...
A giant Ferrero Rocher chocolate!
Sorry Toffee ....in your dreams!

Finally, there are so many of our special friends across the blogosphere who need 'The Power of the Paw'.  I would like to send them my special thoughts and prayers and a MAXDOG message to:
"LIVE IN THE MOMENT!"
(a "present" always available to us)

Please visit them to send some love:

Sending lotsaluv to all my friends in cyber-space,

Hi Caryl, I just had to chuckle when I saw that Tammy snitched Toby's bone and buried it. Such personality!

We've been getting lots of rain and more is forecasted. However, our clouds aren't nearly as pretty as yours.

I'm grinning over Tam taking Toby's bone! What a riot!

We've been thinking a lot about blog friends this week, too!

Hi Maxmom, it must really be a great feeling to actually see your book on the shelves. Congratulations Maxmom, I'm sure that it will do well. It's been pretty much raining up here too. Although we didn't have any beautiful clouds or interesting formations - only a thick blanket of grey clouds dropping lots of rain. But we're hoping for a break soon.

Hi Caryl:

I was surprised to find a picture of the late Maxdog in my mailbox today! Thank you for your very kind note, although I don't much remember any special kindness that I did. That was a hard time to lose Hamish the Westie and Max about the same time. Hamish's replacement Bertie is sure a cute little guy. Do you do a lot with Toby as far as tricks and stuff are concerned. My Blog was hijacked a couple of months ago, so I am considering starting a new one this New Year. So, Happy New Year to you and your family,

Jo, Stella and Zkhat

So funny that Tammy grabbed Toby's bone and buried it. She's sure a sharp one, isn't she. Good thing I wasn't around this Christmas. I think Les and I would have had to arm wrestle for the Rocher! One of my all time favorites! Can't have them in the house, though, because I snitch them at every opportunity - popping one in my mouth - waiting for the cookie outside to get all soft - and then I relish the creamy inside and THEN I crunch the little nut inside - YUMMY!

So, so sad about those we care about who are in need of the Power of the Paw. GJ just doesn't make any sense to me at all. Just breaks my ♥.

Sent you some out-takes of our yearly holiday photo that I thought might bring a smile. It's really difficult for me to get pictures of my bunch when they aren't goofing around☺☺☺.

Wishing you a wonderful New Year's Eve. See you next year!

Hi, Thanks for visiting me the other day. It was very sad about Penny. She fought with everything she had until the very end and we loved her very much.

On a much lighter note, Congratulations on your new book! I'm going to get it! Very exciting news!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you and yours! May 2012 bring you much happiness, love, health, fun, and success!

It is so great seeing "Maxdog" on the book shelves! How wonderful that your dream is realized and so many will read the amazing story!

Toby and Aunt Tam and King Toffee are all looking wonderful. Nice to see them enjoying the wild weather and life in general. :->

Sad news around the blog-o-sphere and my paws are crossed as well in hopes all turns out well for the pups and humans hurting right now.

Interesting rainbow!

I think that Aunt Tam is still teaching Toby some lessons about being a dog. "Always guard your bone" is an important one!

It's wonderful to see pictures of Max on the cover of your book sitting on book store shelves. Wow!

Thank you so much for thinking of us. It has been such a devastating time... Now, we're just hoping for a miracle that will give us more time with K.
