I fully understand how it can take a "King" time to get used to new subjects! Glad it all went well!! :-))

PS: I have to chuckle, my word verification is "bother"

Now I can see how you got your title: The King of laps, Toffee. You hopped right on Lorraine's lap to observe the puppy from your throne. Come on King Toffee, give the little a kiss and teach him how to play hard.
Cheers!

That little pup sure is a cutie patootie! King Toffee, not believing he 'really' is a dog, sure has problems mingling with his own kind, doesn't he? Well, I suppose when you are a little PURRson in a dog's suit there are mistakes every now and then☺

Looks like Miss Tammy is taking to the little one just as we thought she would - quietly, gently and with much love.

My gosh, that little one has some big feet to grow into! I must say, I'd be kissing that chubby belly of his - LOTS!

Toffee you are not alone. I've already met a good few grumpy old chaps who imagine they're royalty in my nearly six months of existence...

This is a great opportunity for Toffee to learn about puppies. It looks like he did OK to us.

King Toffee is going to be in for a real shock when the new little one comes home and stays! It's good that he gets a taste here and there though ahead of time.

SO CUTE! What a great series and story - it is good to know that the King is going to do ok with a new sibling, and of course Tammy will do great. And Puppy is so adorable - I would totally play with her!

I think the captions are so funny! I think this is how puphood will be at your house too. Cold shoulder treatment from Toffee and Tammy will be such a good Mommy sub. It's all gonna be great as long as no one tilts Toffee's crown!

What will King Toffee do when your friend visits the King's castle (a.k.a. your house)? Is he master of his domain, or does he accept new subjets well?

It is so wonderful for all three dogs (and your future puppy) that you are able to meet up like this, and Tammy seems happy enough having with a young pup around.

Riley

Oh my I have missed so much!
I love your speach-bubbles, or is that bark-bubbles?
Great posts! We loved the video and the socialization idea. Things are really exciting over there!

Oh, poor Toffee! I know it's hard on us "more Mature" doggies to put up with the young ones, but we do have a lot that we can teach them. Still, you are lucky because you have Tammy to turn them over to! OC from Country Corgis

Tammy looks so happy with her little pup!! Praying that your little pup from Molly's litter grows faster so Tammy can enjoy him too!

OMG! I am totally having flashbacks to when PeeWee was a puppy. Those black labradorks all look the same to me. Arg! He used to be even more annoying but then he would make cute face and get all cuddled and everything.

Toffee! Do not worry! You just act big and he will respect you.

Mango

Important lesson here, King. Keep the puppy tired out! Loved the napping picture.

Oh my, you're starting to give me puppy envy! That little guy looks SO much like our R as a puppy that it makes my heart go pitter patter.

On a less great note, I saw an idiot today with a black lab puppy the same size as the little puppy in your photos. They were next to a *busy* road and the puppy wasn't on a leash. I almost had a heart attack.

Aside from that negative note, I love the puppy vibes that I'm getting at your blog!
