ANNIE REHEARSALS and PLAYTIME

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
TOBY here...

Hello there to all my furry-friends across the world!

Yesterday, Maxmom took me to the main theatre at the University of the Johannesburg, for some stage-famialisation.  Geesh, but the theatre looked different to how I remember it. There were all sorts of props and steps - in places that certainly don't look like my own scenes for Annie - on the stage.

There is a production of 'Orthello' taking place there this week, but the theatre director graciously gave me some time on the stage.

No problem, I can be Orthello...

BOL!

I also discovered that the edge of the stage is about 1m from the chairs in the front row.

I want to ask you what you think...

Should I go and sniff up that audience, or not?
Should I simply jump off that stage and go walkabout?

Maxmom says its going to be VERY, VERY tempting.
Either way, I'm in for a lot of fun!
BOL!

Back home, I get to be with my canine family:

KING TOFFEE:...

AUNT TAM:

Aunt Tam and I spend a lot of time playing when I get home from rehearsals.

I suspect she misses me.

Maxmom also gives me playtime in the garden.

Well, that's the only news for the moment.

Ticket sales are going well and rehearsals are in full swing.

Roll on the week of the :
23-28th May 2011
ANNIE, HERE WE COME!

Once again, apologies for not getting around to your blogs.
Time is tight at the moment.
Sending lotsalicks to you all
WOOF!

Er Toby pal, I realise that this might be a sensitive issue, especially in your part of the world, but I think you might just be a bit too, er, pale, to play Othello!
Better stick with Sandy. (We have some lovely almost white sand beaches in Scotland).
Toodle pip!

I think you better go easy on the improvising there. That said, the audience would no doubt love an after show autograph session. You will be the star.

OMD your expression in that picture with Aunt Tam is absolutely PRICELESS!!! BOL! Looked like she gave you a little scolding there, boy.

MMM me thinks it's not a good idea for you jump off the stage. You might hurt your legs doing that.

Pee/S: I am happy to know you liked my entry for Lincoln's contest. Hoomie Melissa says to thank you for the very nice compliment. It made her smile!

Great post. Toby is growing up so fast, smart and handsome. He sure looks comfortable on stage.

Hi there, I think your mom should be in the first row just to give you the eye if you decide you want to visit off stage. Loved seeing all the photos-especially of you and Aunt Tam.
Hugs today.

Toby is so mature for a boy going thru puphood. Those look like fiercely/fun hellos from Tammy. Did you wake King Toffee? He is so cute. I know that Toby needs time to run and play after rehearsals. I see he loves his frisbee.

Maybe you should try staying on the stage until after the curtain falls! Then I know everyone is going to want to meet you in the furs.

Hi Toby,
Mum and I have enjoyed your last two posts, and we can't wait to hear how you do. We are sure you are going to be the star of the show. Have you practiced your "bow" for at the end?

Lots of woofs,

Hello dearest Toby,

We have been bad with updating our posts as piappies mom has been so busy with w-o-r-k but we try as often to read your updates.

We are really excited to read about your Annie opening. It is wonderful that you have been enjoying the rehearsals and we are 100% sure you will do really great.

Piappies mom has a co-worker who visited South Africa recently and she was so excited she asked her to try to find you there or at least watch Annie for us! She got so excited about being there and find you.

We wish you luck with the gala show!

Love,

Hi Toby! Wow that is cool that you got to hang out on the stage to get used to it - it looks like a fun place! And it is great you still get to have time to have fun with your family at home - we know rehersal can take a lot of time, so we are glad it isn't all you are doing!
