A TRAGEDY IN OUR BLOGGING COMMUNITY...

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
MAXMOM here...

It's Christmas time -
This is usually a time for family, togetherness and celebration.  Yet, it is with a deep sadness that I convey the terrible news that one of our long-standing blogging-buddies...
in Houston, Texas, suffered a terrible housefire in the early hours of yesterday.  They lost everything, including five of their dogs.  All human beings are safe, but among those who died was Shelby, the sweet rescue doggie who was found near death in a parking lot about 18 months ago and nursed back to health. There are five, bright, new stars in our midnight sky tonight and blogville is stunned.

My heart goes out to Sandra and her family as they face the heart-breaking devastation of this event. Please know that we love and care about you, Sandra.  The blogging community is right behind you - with our thoughts, prayers and small contributions.

Please may I appeal to my readers to open up your heart and consider giving a donation to help this family to start rebuilding their lives.  In the usual, amazing fashion, blogville has roped up the "Power of the Paw" in our community to help one of our own. A secure donation site has been set up, which you can access
Please contribute, if you can.
Sending lotsaluv

Our mom cries everytime she reads a post like this. We are so heartbroken for Sandra and her pack but the generosity of our blogging community has been overwhelming and wonderful.

We've visited and left our condolences and "chipped in", but somehow it just doesn't seem like enough. Nothing can replace all that was lost, especially those beautiful furbabies. Prayers are all that is left to give.

That's awful news.

When one of our bloggy friends hurts so badly as in this terrible sadness, we all hurt too.
I cannot even imagine the pain in Sandras heart, and I feel so helpless, even though I have helped chip in.
I know Sandra feels lost without direction. We are all feeling her pain.
I ask God to help her... and us to..as we walk beside her.
