GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
TOBY here...
Woof!
Hey there, every-furry-buddy...
It’s been an eventful 48 hours with Maxmom fretting constantly about our resident rat.
“I think we need a better solution,” she told us scoldingly.
“You guys are hopeless!”
Eish, what an insult!
Despite us spending a large part of our day snootering around everywhere in the house, she’s still not happy.
Well, yes, the King sometimes does prefer his throne!
Sadly, it seems that we had been guarding the wrong thing!
It was the piano room that needed guarding, NOT HER!
“Can’t have those things in the house!” she muttered.
“Yeah, Maxmom, whatever!”
After a trip to the shops, she returned with this strange contraption.
This looks very much like a MEGA- rat-feeder to me!
Don't you agree?
Don't you agree?
This morning she was all smiles.
Despite my reservations, I’m happy to report that the rat has been eliminated!
He is no longer with us...
He is a ‘has been’ rat!

(For those of my buddies who are sensitive viewers,
PLEASE PUT YOUR PAWS OVER YOUR EYES, NOW!)
Another warning:
PLEASE PUT YOUR PAWS OVER YOUR EYES!

Okay, if you are daring, you can look...
here goes...
He looks somewhat like my ‘rat impersonation’, with Miss R, this past weekend...

We were so excited about the rat-elimination, that Maxmom decided to play my favourite game:
FETCH, the POGO PLUSH BUNNY.

Phew, that was fun!
Time for a well-earned rest...

So, Toby Dude, let me see if I got this right... You caught your plush bunny and your Mum caught the rat?

I admire your courage to get rid of that rat--I would not have!!! Glad it's gone and all can relax!!! Hope you're having a good day!!!
ADieu to the rat. Thanks for the tip. We'll report on how its received. Pretty well I should imagine !
He sure is deaded. RIP.
Yikes. Thanks for the description and glad the catch was successful.
I loved the khomfy pose that was just like the departed rat!

Wow Toby and I though Max was cool. Thanks for the invite to follow your life in South Africa. I am for sure gonna follow your blog. I am from Utah, Vickie says that is way way far away and that we most likely will never get to meet in person but this cool internet thing makes it possible to follow each others lives across the world.
I only write once a week but it will be so fun to catch up on your life daily. You are way good looking. I bet we would look pretty cool walking down the street together. Oh well. Thanks again for writing. I'll keep in touch. It is so cool. I have a new friend in AFRICA. yeah....

Good riddance, they are disgusting things. Toby has the right idea; when all else fails, look cute and play.
Tee hee hee! We just got caught up on the rat saga, and it was highly amusing for us here. Of course, that's because we didn't have the rat in our house! I'm glad he has been dispatched, though, and that you can all (hopefully) sleep in peace now!

We are happy to see that the rat has been eliminated! yeaaaaaaaaaaaa
Love ya lots

GREAT NEWS! I'm so glad you trapped that rat and it's gone. I laughed at the king there on his throne. I'm glad that no paws were harmed too! Good job MAXMOM.
hey Toby,
My human once had a pet rat, so this post kind-of made her sad. But, we know that having a wild rat in the house is not good, so we are happy it was found and is no longer haunting your home. :->
I love your new bunny stuffy! That was so kind of your Virgina friends to send to you! It looks like you have a lot of fun with it! And King looks so sweet in his throne. I bet you were all tired from all that rat hunting. ;->
Suka
WOWZA! That is one - big - rat! Very chubby and well fed, that's for sure! Leave it to MAXMOM to come up with the PURRfect solution. Frankly, it's best that none of you got very involved with the 'dispatch' of the critter. Those things can be very vicious if you don't know what you're doing and have been known to give some pretty nasty bites!
Uhm, wonder if he has any fambly members lurking around...
AHHH we are so happy your mom finally got that smelly critter! Hoomie Melissa captured one before in a very small cage. She "terminated" it in a not very pretty way. I wonder what she did? We never got the chance to watch the termination.
Ewwwwww. Dead rat! We're glad you didn't catch it. It might have bitten you and given you some awful rat disease. That rat trap was a way better idea. Yup. We hope to have a ratfree weekend too. In fact, we've never had a ratty week or weekend, so we're pretty safe.
Smooches from pooches,

It took us three cats to get rid of the mouse/rat issue around our horses! I'm glad you caught yours - I get creeped out by the thought of those things in our house!
Sam
The rat is at the Raibow Bridge now, and not at your house making your alarms go off!!
Toby I love the photo of you and your stuffy,,, will you share?
love
