We saw this on her blog today and it just brought tears to our eyes seeing how the Maxterpiece evolved.

This is a wonderful post for Memorial Day here in the US.
Leaking again - what a gorgeous tribute, Kathleen - just loved seeing the portrait in its various stages with those wonderful pictures of Max. So glad to be able to see it (thanks Mimi too!) - and thanks MaxMom for posting it on this special day in the US. Heartbreakingly beautiful portrait and tribute as well. We think of you so much Caryl.

So beautiful.

That really is a lovely gift to you and tribute to Max. You can see the love in Max’s eyes in each stage of the painting. In art it is so hard to capture the essence or soul of the subject, and what Kathleen has done thousands of miles away through photos (which is much harder than meeting the subject) in her Max-terpiece is amazing. She has done it again in this tribute. Maxmom thank you again for sharing Max with the blogging world, and thank you also Kathleen for showing us Max's love through your art and creativity.
Thinking of you, and sending hugs

Caryl, I'm so glad you love the video, I truly enjoyed making it. I've been so moved by your writing and photos this past year, your openness, kindness and love, I couldn't not give some of that back.
Much love to you, my friend!

m.o.m. wanted me to leave you this little piece she recieved from her vet...
We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached.
Unable to accept it's awful gaps, we still would live no other way.
We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan....
