RUFFITWOOD: "OUT OF AFRICA"

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXMOM here...
"RUFFITWOOD OUT OF AFRICA"

Hello there to all my friends across the world!
(and also to the new visitors to this blog!)

As most of you know by this stage,
we have severe 'Puppy Fever' in this household!

The pups are just over Four Weeks old at the moment and they are growing in leaps and bounds!
We went to spend some time visiting with them yesterday. They were happily romping around in the back yard during our time with Zena and Alan and I can say...
They are simply fabulous!
I've taken many photographs and would like to post some of them up today for the purposes of keeping a long-term record.  So although this is a long post, I am sure you will bare with me as I 'overload' on photos.
---xXx---

Apparently there are some special people in Cape Town who will be giving a home to one of the 'brothers' in the litter.  I thought I'd put up a few pictures for them of their own little earmarked puppy too.
(It must be heart-wrenching to be so far away and not get to interact with him)

So here are the pictures of the 'brother' who will be going to Cape Town eventually.
...with my love...

To these special 'strangers' in Cape Town...
I wish you well with your little puppy! He is too beautiful for words!...and he looks very well indeed!

---xXx---

Now, on to my own little puppy.....

My pup has been officially registerred under his kennel name...

RUFFITWOOD: "OUT OF AFRICA"
(Don't you just love the name?!)

We still haven't settled on a final "day-to-day" name for him, but yesterday's favourite was

"TOBY"
(Only time will tell, which name it will eventually be).

So let's get on to the photos of our own little one...

(The 'Cape Town' brother on the left and our little one on the right)

Thank you to all my blogging friends for all your love which is coming my way through your comments and for your shared enjoyment of this great event in our lives.

A very special "THANK YOU!" to Alan and Zena at
RUFFITWOOD KENNELS
for allowing me, once again, to visit our new little pup.
We are extremely grateful for this privilege!

Also note:
I have pasted another video in the 'header' above of the pups at
FOUR WEEKS OLD!!!
Enjoy!
Sending lotsaluv to you all!

ASTA ENTERS DEXTER'S COMPETITION

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
TAMMY-GIRL here...

Hello there to all my fur-buddies from across the world!
It's been a while since I, the
TAMMY GIRL
have put up a blog post, so today MAXMOM said that I could have the stage...
But before anything else, I just want to say that I am so excited to hear that I am going to get a new puppy to look after soon!  It will only be in about 5 weeks time, but hey it's still very exciting! ...and I am practicing hard to be a worthy 'big sis'!
I wonder what MAXMOM is going to name him?
She is contemplating all your fantastic suggestions and says that I must say a big
THANK YOU !
...to you all...each suggestion gets mom thinking!
Now just to remind you, here is what my little brother looks like at the moment...

Anyway, today's post isn't about our puppy but rather about another special puppy in our midst and her name is...
"ASTA"
Many of you will know that  MANGO ( the relentlessly huge), has graciousy relinquished a little of his blog’s space to his ‘labradork’ brother.
DEXTER
Dexter has called all black labradorks to unite in solidarity and enter his competition for
only black labradorks!

Well we thought we would like to enter our little friend, ASTA, on behalf our her puppy-walker, LORRAINE, into this prestigious competition of DEXTER’s. ASTA doesn't have a blog of her own (yet), so we are giving you her news (until her mom plucks up the courage:))
Many of you will know that we are all white dogs in this household of ours, but we wanted you also to know that we admire black doggies too. Indeed we admire ALL doggies...but that’s another story.
Today we are dedicating this special post to our friends
ASTA and LORRAINE.

Please study them carefully so that you will be able to identify Asta on DEXTER’s blog!

ASTA will be spending only one year with LORRAINE before she enters the formal six months training programme for guide and service dogs with

(Asta barking at me)

Training to be a guide/service dog is quite a mountain for this little mite to climb, but many other black labradorks have conquered it before and become wonderful assistants to their future owners. We wish ASTA well on her journey and we will be following her all the way!
It goes to show....
Black labradorks can indeed achieve amazing heights!
(Did we ever think otherwise?!)
Please visit DEXTER and his relentlessly huge brother, MANGO, to see all the participants.

Good luck ASTA!

HE GROWS IN LEAPS AND BOUNDS!

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXMOM here...
Hello there to all my friends!
Oh Boy!

The puppies have grown in leaps and bounds!
I took the half hour journey across our city with Lorraine this morning
to get my weekly dose of puppy-breath ...
What  a treat!!!

The Golden Puppies are now just over
THREE WEEKS OLD!!!

They are the most adorable little things I have ever seen!
...Especially my special little one!...
(Lorraine holding my puppy)

Isn't he absolutely beautiful!
Even at this tender age, he has gripped my heart and squeezed it tight to let me know that he is the one!!!

He now weights 2750grams
(Having weighed about 500-600g at birth)

Although ALL the puppies are truly lovely, unfortunately I only seem to have eyes for him.

I have so many pictures to show you, so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...

'Yes! You are mine!"
"You really do need a name!
...a special name!"
"What shall I call you?"
"We still have five weeks to decide!"
"Oh, I love you so much already!"
Now here's a thing...

I haven't chosen a name for him yet. I thought I'd wait until his little personality emerges.
Well, it did today...

He is a chunky, little fluffpot who is absolutely adorable!
He is totally laid back and has a more submissive and calm temperament than his siblings. He's cuddly, plump (as a puppy should be) and is probably going to be a bit of a couch potatoe!
He LOVES his food!

I want a name that reflects his temperament.  He is so warm in nature but when I think of him, I imagine a smooth ice-cream with a little exotic flavour...perhaps with a shot of liqueur. It could also be a type of latte, coffee or smoothie.  I imagine a sunset where the mood is calm and serene.
I want a name with two syllables and it needs to be a "soft" sounding name.
I  know the right name is out there somewhere, but I can't put my finger on it. The closest name I have at the moment is "Chino" (as in cuppachino) but I'm not certain yet.

I know I've asked before, but now that we know him a little better,
do you have any suggestions?????

I would love to hear from you...please!
More pictures....

He loves his brother!
These two boys are often seen sleeping with their heads together.

My heart is already sold!
...it was sold from day one!
What will your name be, little one?

---xXx---
Once again, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Zena and Alan at
RUFFITWOOD GOLDEN RETRIEVERS
for allowing me this unique privilege to watch my little pup grow.
You have no idea what this means to me!
With grateful thanks,
