WISDOM WHICH HAS COME FROM YOU!

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXMOM here...
Dear Friends

Thank you all for your wonderful, insightful comments to my post yesterday...

The idea that wisdom can be collected from the knowledge and opinions of people around us is becoming more and more pertinent to me.
By listening and accessing the ideas of others, we are able to better charter the course for our own journeys and challenges. It goes without say that your feedback to my posts is incredibly valuable to me.

I get feedback from many sources. Sometimes this feedback is directly on the comment/response link to this blog or it may be through word-of-mouth from my immediate friends.

There is another feedback source however that is so powerful...
so powerful that I ache because that particular wisdom is often not shared with the world and may become lost.
I am talking about emails from unknown people and non-bloggers.

Yesterday I received three beautiful and pertinent comments and I really feel that they should be shared with my friends and those who read this blog. So here they are, together with some pictures of the gorgeous proteas currently blooming in Mpumalanga, South Africa. I share this with you, with my love and on behalf of those who sent this wonderful wisdom to me:

An email from a friend...

"Those who love you are not fooled by mistakes you have made or dark images you hold about yourself. They remember your beauty when you feel ugly; your wholeness when you are broken; your innocence when you feel guilty; and your purpose when you are confused."
- Alan Cohen

A story left in my comments link...
(thank you "Kari"! I have no other way of responding to you.)

Several years ago, I would take my morning walk by a seaside that passed in front of rows of multimillion dollar homes. There was a middle aged ginger cat who would visit with me when I sat on one particular bench by the sea wall. He and I fell immediately for each other and I looked forward to his company each day. We were soulmates without a doubt. I later learned he was sort of a neighborhood cat that people in the area fed. He looked fit for an older fellow. Let me say that at this time my life was very complicated.

So months went by and I noticed the cat slowing down and getting thinner. Somehow, he had become less welcome in his neighborhood and on one chilly rainy day I found him wet and shivering. I took him home. He slept the sleep of death for three days finally being able to rest without fear or worry. He arose only to eat and use his box. He wanted nothing to do with the outside ever again. When he saw me open a door to the outside, he ran the other way. He was the love of my life. I regretted all of those extra months that I could have had with him if I had just used my heart as my guide. How stupid of me to buy into that "freedom" nonsense. He had suffered not having a real home and I had suffered not having him. Someone once told me not to miss the present while mourning the past or you may loose a gift of love that is right in front of you. Love doesn't always come when it is convenient or you are ready for it. So we need to keep our hearts open or loose our chance.

Finally...I was sent a beautiful and powerful link by a friend.

powerful message in the video...

the time will come for you and your human and K9 family to add another doggie to your household...

Merlin reminds me a little of my Apples - may she find happiness and a home someday too (like my rescue)...

I always find it amazing how sometimes just the right words resonate with us when we hear them at just the perfect time!

Very nice post and I love the flower pictures. I might save a couple for my desktop background if that's okay. I do that sometime to remind me to pray for my blog friends.
The video....I stopped and looked around. At my feet are my six friends (5 rescues) who live here with JP and I. What would like be without each different personality we have here. Sometimes they are an absolute "pain" but they are my good friends always.

A beautiful post this- as always.
The timing- oh the timing....
How is it that far across the world a message like this comes and touches the innermost part of a heart. Your words about journeys and challenges, rang a bell with me, and so the video and all the words - well- i felt it was ment for me. How I want to tatoo the feeling of the video into my heart.
I want it so much- I cannot stand it.
In your journey of searching- you touch others,, and I am thankful for you, so thankful.
It seems I can never see videos that people put on their blogs- this one came through-
as clear as a bell- yes a bell.
It was ment to be.
