‘MAXDOG’ HAS A DREAM ...

I have a dream ...
Of friends far and wide
I have a dream ...
They will be at my side ...

Where I can show my country – its bountiful delights:
The animals, the plants and so many sites!
To take in its cultures, it’s food, its sun,
To show my guests that Africa is fun!

I dream of laughter, of happiness, of care
I dream my joy in my country, which they can share.
I dream of dancing, music and good –
Of one big family ... one big brood.

They came, they saw, they shared my dream
A dream dreamt by all of us ... or so it would seem.
So THANK YOU, my guests, for just being you
My dream for Africa has just come true!

RULES FOR THE "GIVE-AWAY" COMPETITION

In celebration of the birth of the international MAXDOG JOURNEY, I am running a small competition this week.  You have a chance to

WIN A BEAUTIFUL, AUTOGRAPHED COPY OF MAXDOG!

Since Max was a 'cyber-tour-guide', we would like you to be the same - for a moment - in the comments section of this blogpost.  Simply share something interesting about your own country? It can be historical, social, funny, food-related, sports related, geographical, etc...absolutely anything! Something that we'd all enjoy reading. Tell us where you come from and why your country is the best place on earth   :)

Remember... to leave your own blog's address at the bottom of your comment, or indicate where I can contact you. Please would you also tell all your friends about this competition - to come here and enter.

This give away competition will close at midnight on Friday 25th May 2012 - GMT 24h00 +2 - and the winner will be announced on Monday 28th May 2012.

I will be reading all your comments on this blogpost, and together with my family, we will choose the one which we think is the most original.

I look forward to posting a copy of my book to one lucky person.

(Please note: If you have already read MAXDOG, or already own a book, please still enter!  If you win the book, you are welcome to give it to someone less fortunate.  The whole point of this competition is to generate a sense of 'patriotism' and fun - whilst we learn about the various countries in our wonderful world. Luv C)

---xXx---

Our work is done and our mission complete.
All that remains now is for MAXDOG to be embraced by the world.

"Wherever MAXDOG goes, let it do good!"

Hi Maxmom, great idea - we already have a copy of your book so we won't be entering the contest but we'll tell others about your contest. Hmmm....something about our country - well in our part of the country, you can ski even in the summer on the Blackcomb Glacier and play golf the same day in 23 degree heat. Interested Maxmom and family? Oh yes, there's lots of very nice South Africans around here too.

The United States of America is the greatest country on earth because it is filled with people who are selfless to a fault. The poor and middle class of my country are known to give more to charity than our millionaires and billionaires in proportion to their wealth.

No other country gives more to impoverished nations to feed the poor, to inoculate children against earth's treatable diseases, to save endangered species.

I love my country deeply and always. Please don't consider this to be an entry. Consider it to be an American wearing her country's flag on her sleeve.

BTW, MAXMOM, you're not getting older - you're getting better☺.

I saw this on fb. Is this US $20?

I hope I win! I'm from the US and here's some trivia from 3 states I picked at random:

Idaho: Webster defines idyllic as "pleasing or picturesque in natural simplicity". This describes Idaho, a state which has the largest single piece of protected wilderness in the continental United States.

Arizona: Known as the Grand Canyon State

Wisconsin: Madison, WI is nationally renown for its superior living standards.

Wishing you a very special Happy Birthday.

I'm so glad to hear that MaxDog will now be available here too. I loved my copy of MaxDog that we ordered and have friends who I know would enjoy it (and there are birthdays coming up soon). I won't part with my copy of the book, especially since it's autographed, so I'm glad I can now get additional copies soon from Amazon.

We're so pleased that MAXDOG will now have a worldwide circulation! Our mom gave up on ordering it before because she was too silly to figure out how to pay for it -- but now even she can figure out how to order it online!!!

We love our country, the USA, and living in a state amusingly called Flori-duh because of all the bizarre things that happen here, we have to give it a special shout-out. Our part of the state, South Florida, is blessed with people from all over the world, including many from Central and South America and the Caribbean. So, in addition to the beautiful beaches and palm trees and great weather, we have our own mini multi-lingual United Nations. And lots of people even speak DOG!!!

Wirey love,

Jake and Just Harry

Happy Birthday Maxdog's, and Toby's, mom! Hope you have a wonderful birthday celebration and may this next year of your life be filled with much love and laughter and joy!

How wonderful that "Maxdog" is now available for $20. Good luck in making tons of new sales!

What a fantastic idea for a contest. I will be back to enter. Not sure if I can do better than Scout and Freyja, though.

Through my paws and eyes- what do I see? I see my beautiful surroundings where I can walk in the mossy green forests surrounded by tall giant trees. Trees that have withstood so much turmoil in their life, yet they still stand. Trees of all different kinds- that stand beside each other and so not fight or judge each other- but instead- they support and love each other.
I love to stand by a crystal clear stream and ponder the magic of how that little stream can trickle and bend through curves, and then splash over a waterfall before it plunges to the sea. I think about how the sea creatures can swim from your seas to mine, and it reminds me of how close we really are to you.
I love my country- which is Oregon- U.S.A.

Happy belated Birthday Wishes to Caryl, and I hope you had a "Barking" Good day...
I choose not to enter into this giveaway because I would love to give someone else the chance to win your awesome book. Reading Maxdog has been one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. It has given me a new outlook on life... It has taught me that my dogs have always given me such unconditional love, and continue to do so, and furthermore, I now know what they think and feel, just by looking into their eyes. Thank you Caryl and to Max for being such an inspiration to me and everyone who has a chance to read your book....

Some people prefer to think of my country, South Africa, as a glass half full with a rich tapestry of landscapes, a diversity of culture and people and a promise for the future. Indeed, exactly where in the world is Utopia?"

Hello MaxMom!
A Very Happy Birthday To You! May God Bless You A Very Long, Happy & Healthy Life! Amen.

I am Ayesha and I live in Karachi, Pakistan! I came to know of Maxdog through our friends AugieDoggy.com and it's been more than a year I joined you on Facebook and it has been a wonderful journey! I consider myself very Lucky to know you! Yours and Maxdog's life is a lesson of strength, courage, faith & Being there for one another throughout the Highs & Lows of Life! Maxdog truly touches each and every heart and I am glad to be a part of Maxdog's life!

About my country, it's a wonderful place with kind hearted people and beautiful animals! The only thing which is not good is the weather! It's hot almost eleven months in a year and the animals and birds have to face a lot of difficulties in such extremely hot weather! So people keep water and food bowls outside their houses for all the stray dogs and cats and separate food and water bowls for the birds! It is a combined effort that brings a huge difference to the lives of all these beautiful souls!

I want to spread this message far and wide(where shelters are not so common and where there's a huge number of stray animals)that we all can help them in big ways by providing them food and water if we can't keep (rescue/adopt) them!

I would like to win The Maxdog's Giveaway Contest because I want to know more about Caryl & Maxdog's life-they are already an inspiration for me and for million others! I want to read the book so badly but I can't order it because I don't have a credit card and I don't even know if they'll print it for the friends in Pakistan! So winning this contest would be like my biggest dream coming true!

I am keeping my fingers crossed and my Dog, Pintu is keeping his paws crossed :)

In case we win, you can contact us on any of my facebook accounts given:

Thank You So Much!
