Hello there every furry buddys...

Does anyones know what dat is?
"A sweet hooligan"???

Let me tell you's what I do and you decide...

I lie pawfectly still on da grass and show my angel face!
Dat's no "sweet hooligan", is it?
I pose for Maxmom,
... like  da "Maxdog" did...

Dat's no "sweet hooligan", is it?

I listen to da King, although he doesn't really look like a King, now does he?

Why is he the King?
Isn't he da "sweet hooligan" maybe,
 ...and not me?
I do my "Potty" outside...um, I try!
Sometimes I does have accidents, but I try!...
I really do!
See, I'm try also to "Stay" for Maxmom so dat she can use dat flashy beast!
I sleep in da King's bed sumtimes...and chew on it ... see my teeth marks?

...and I hang my tail over da bed...

(But I really thought Maxmom told me to sleep in dat bed!)

Look, I evens took my sheep with me to da King's bed.
...and I watch out for my "AUNT TAM"!
Look at me here (in da photo under neath)

"AUNT TAM"

You alls know that my 'Aunt Tam' has a new make-over look.
Maxmom is very cross about 'Aunt Tam's' new look
and dusn't want NO PICKI-CHEWS of her onna blog..

(But I gotta picki-chew for you's all...I am da very cleva Toby puppy!)

Look, I knows that I'm not supposed to show you picki-chews of da 'Tam', but I also knows that you's wanna see dem....so I'll be a small, "Sweet hooligan" ...maybe?...

(Don't forget...Don't tell Maxmom!)

Maybe I shouldn't show you's...

uhmmmmm.....?

Okay, I wills....

See, "Aunt Tam" has Zebra furs, BOL!

...Dey are jus like "Miss R"s mushrooms inna barfroom...
(I'm not allowed to go inna barfroom either!)

Okay, I beta be a good puppy now,
because if I'm not, Maxmom says she'll write baddie thingys about me...

A MIXED BAG...

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
MAXMOM here...

Hello there everyone!

There are five things on my list today which I would like to talk about, so gather your beverages and take a seat...this is our time together...and I love it!

The first...
Toby had his first swim yesterday!...and yes, it was a planned one!
We went off to Asta's house, where my friend has a heated pool.  It was a beautiful afternoon - clear skies, warm temperatures and a green garden, with a variety of twitterings coming from the surrounding foliage. Both Asta and Toby had been highly energised throughout the day, so we thought a swim might dissipate all their puppy energy.

I fished my swimming costume out my cupboard and transfomed myself into a fifty-something beachbabe (Huh?)

..In your dreams, Maxmom!  Toby looked on with a mixture of horror and glee...I wasn't sure if the horror had something to do with my swimming costume! Anyway, I was in the pool before he knew it.
Fortunately I didn't have my camera with me! LOL!...so you will just have to imagine it!

The bottom line (excuse the pun) of the story is that TOBY PUPPY is a natural water pooch!
He jumped into that pool as if there was nothing else in the world.  At first I was thrilled, thinking that he 'loves' the water.  Indeed he does love the water, but his determination to get into the pool was because his seperation anxiety had taken over....
Is this good or bad?

Secondly, I would like to announce that there will be very few (if any) photographs of our dazzling
 'AUNT TAM'
 in the immediate future!

Unfortunately she has had a make-over and looks nothing like herself!

Some budding hair stylist in our household got hold of a pair of scissors....more horrors!
The closest description I can give you is that our 'AUNT TAM' can now substitute for an Albino Zebra!
No amount of coaxing will entice me to put up any pictures of her on this blog!!!
Sorry folks!

The good news is that she 'feels' so much cooler in this hot climate!

Caution! Caution!...not for sensitive viewers!
Please close your eyes as you scroll down!

You are warned!...

African rain spider - in our bathroom last night!

The beautiful rain spiders have sought refuge in places where they won't be showered!
Our temperatures have picked up dramatically over the past couple of days and we've had our first rain shower this afternoon.  TOBY PUPPY thinks this is heaven!  The droplets pour off him like a duck and he is very interested in the booming heavens...interested, NOT scared!

The fourth thing I want to say is that I am so sorry for all the sadness which is prevailing in bloggie-land at the moment.  So many friends have lost their animals or their loved ones. You are ALL in my thoughts and prayers.  If it is any consolation...it is these difficult times which prime us to appreciate the happier ones.  Hang in there, dear friends...one day at a time!

To my many blogging friends who responded to TOBY's call yesterday...
THANK YOU!

I honor you all for your unique role which you play in our beautiful,
 "Power of the Paw!"

Fifthly and Finally...

Isn't it amazing what us Mom's have to endure....mmmmph!

I am sure we all have stories of our households being filled with various 'projects' which belong to our children/grandchildren.  Well, I thought I'd outgrown that one, but I now have to think twice...

One of "Miss R"s subjects at university is micro-biology, so now we have
MUSHROOMS
growing in our bathroom!
Yes, beautiful, frothy, pink mushrooms!
My whole house smells like a mushroom farm!
Oh dear!

Do the joys of motherhood match the joys of Puppyhood?
I wonder!

A SPECIAL WEDNESDAY REQUEST...

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
TOBY PUPPY here...
Hello there to all my friends across the world...

Maxmom wants me to ask you all a really big favour today...

but first let me show you how I have to live in my new forever home...

"I" think I am a really good puppy!...
but there are so many rules!!!

I try really hard to learn all the new rules in my household and to be a good puppy,

but some of them are so difficult to understand!

For example...

*Why can't I chew up Maxmom's flower pots?

*Why can't I romp and play at 2am when its beautifully cool?

*Why can't I have more food?

*Why does "Aunt Tam" and "King Toffee" always come first?

*Why does Maxmom sometimes have to go out of the house and leave me here?

Rules! Rules! Rules!????

It's all so difficult to understand!

*******
But there is one rule that I do understand:

and Maxmom says that it is the most important rule of all...

*TO SHARE!
*TO CARE!
and
*TO UPLIFT!

...especially when it comes to my bloggie-buddies!
So I am going to try and do this today by asking all my furry-friends a very special favour...

This morning Maxmom came across a new bloggie-buddy who has just had to say good-bye to a very special furry-friend, her little...

Maxmom says she doesn't know why, but she has been so  very touched by this news and she remembers the wonderful efforts of her blogging buddies and how they uplifted her during the time when
 went to the bridge.

Maxmom has asked me if you would please join her in giving some love to
by going to her blog
and leaving a comment

(When you are there, be sure to read the lovely tribute put up by...
"Steve"
amongst the comments)

My little doggie-heart just knows they will appreciate your thoughts!

Sending lotsaluv and lotsalicks to you all and
especially to

MY FIRST DAY AT PUPPY SCHOOL!

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
TOBY PUPPY here...

Hello there to all my furry-friends around the world!
It's Sunday and I am happy!...very happy!

I am already 10 weeks old (and 3 days) and I weigh a whopping
10 kgs!
I'm getting bigger and stronger every day and I take pride in being an absolute hooligan here at home (sometimes).  The early morning is my most active time and I charge around the house and gather various interesting items for my growing nest - shoes, underwear, soft toys and whatever is available.

Last night I found a prize - Miss "R"s special ipod ear phones!!!..
....they didn't really work for me, so I chewed them up!

If the humans feed me my breakfast quickly, then I generally calm down a bit, but then I divert my attention to my willing 'AUNT-TAM' for a play session and a romp on the mattress in the corner of the bedroom...or in the garden...

I LOVE MY AUNT TAM!

We mouth each other and growl in euphoria and sometimes I let out my little 'Toby squeak'. Aunt Tam then gives me a few seconds break and then our game starts afresh.

Maxmom has made a good choice with my new puppy school...
It's name is....
(Drum roll.......)

I went there for the first time on Saturday.

Our 'top doggie' there is "Ms Shannon"...

Maxmom says that she really knows her subject..."Me"???...
...and she is a really pleasant person ...and she makes puppy classes FUN

I feel really comfortable at her school and I think I am going to thrive.

The grounds are farmlike and spaceous and I got to meet a donkey and some sheep and chickens who were trying to be spectators.

There are some interesting pieces of equipment scattered around too.  At the end of our lesson, us puppies (there were about 18 of us) were allowed to test out three obstacle courses - a maze and two tunnels.  I LOVED the tunnels, but even though I tried, the trainers wouldn't give me a second turn!

Our lesson was great too!
"Ms Shannon" taught me how to handle boredom and to relax on lead so that Maxmom could learn something too.

Us puppies were then taught "FREE" and we were allowed to romp and get to know our fellow puppy students. Look at this little one...her name is 'Miss Molly'
(??"Molly" is my mother's name!!!... can this be possible???)

I felt very comfortable and none of the puppies showed any signs of what these silly humans call 'aggression'.
Our class is a mixed bunch of all sorts of breeds that I've never seen before....very interesting indeed!

There were big ones and small ones, but I took a particular fancy to a little Basset puppy whose ears tripped him up every so often.

He's really cute though, but I think his ears should be clipped back in a pony tail for his class, BOL!

I am a bit of a loner though and I prefer to scout around and smell all the news, or look at the trees and humans...

The temperature was really hot on Saturday and some of us pups got a bit lethargic.  But the organisers take great care to have plenty of water bowls dotted around the gounds.  Everything is so well thought out and we took home a specially sponsored welcome pack from
ROYAL CANIN.
(They took great care to make my pack breed specific too....thank you!)

Maxmom has some homework to do to...

**she has to re-enforce my "SIT" and my "COME" commands and...
**She has to find out something to tell about my breed
(Somehow I think she knows quite a bit about my breed already, BOL!)
**She also has to study the Training CD which the school has given her...

"GO MAXMOM!"

I love puppy school and I can't wait for my next lesson in two weeks time!
Thank you, "Ms Shannon" for your pawsome training methods and for helping us pups to step up!
You have a great school! Now I am officially a student of...
Woof! Woof!

But puppy school is tiring!....so it's sleep time now!

---xXx---

I would like to send lotsalicks to all my furry-friends around the world and a very special lick to my
... for all the wonderful pictures she created for us for
Livestrong Day!
(Did anyone notice that "Maxmom" was dressed in yellow at puppy school?)
You are a very talented furry-friend and we are really grateful!
THANK YOU, AUNTY ANN!
