SUBMITTING TO TERRIERS AND CHRISTMAS RAIN...

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
TOBY here...

Hello there to all my furry friends across the world.

Most of the blogs I read seem to be covered in that 'white stuff'...I think they call it "SNOW". Oh how wonderful it would be to experience a 'white Christmas', but somehow I don't think that will happen here in South Africa....BOL!

We have been having VERY wet weather here in Johannesburg recently.  The thunderstorms have been fierce and the rivers are swelling. The clouds have been hanging around for three days now but thankfully I still get my walks. All Aunt Tam and I hear during our walks is 'swish...swish...swish!'.  How on earth is Santa gonna stop by in our mud?!

Anyway, as we wind down towards Christmas day, Maxmom still has to get her act together with the famous 'tree'.  I heard her mention that she is going to delay it as long as possible - because "I" am around.  I take it that the Christmas tree and all its ornaments is a very tempting object...is it?   Well, I can't wait!!!

Maxmom also says I am a great "shopper" in this house.  I shop in the dustbins and I shop in all the rooms - for anything lying about on the floor.  I have a particular liking for blankets and towels. (I find underwear very enticing too!)  But soon I will be shopping for Christmas presents under the tree...and all the human treats too....oooooooo, I can't wait!

Besides the rain, I am still enjoying my swimming pool:....

I usually have a swim each afternoon after my walks.
Yesterday I really needed one, because I was
'attacked' by a bunch of terriers on my walk
Thankfully I wasn't hurt, but I didn't see them coming and I got a really big fright! ...I could even smell Maxmom's adrenalin too!  Thankfully I gave those feisty ones my special submissive look and tucked my tail between my legs.  I made them look tall too by bending really low.  It seemed to work, but I was real scared of them!

Aunt Tam and I were wondering if my bloggie buddies - Bertie, Asta, Lacie, Barkalots and all the other terriers - need us to submit to them too?

Please tell us...must we??  Must I really???

Anyway, it seems that the bloggie world is cooling off in its activity with Christmas looming around the corner.  I'm not sure how much posting I am going to be doing either, so in the meantime, I just want to wish all my readers a wonderful, peaceful, joyous and very HAPPY Christmas! I will be spending time playing with my Aunt Tam'.

I will try and visit you guys when I can and perhaps post if I get the opportunity.
But please bear with me during this festive season.

Sending lotsalicks to you all!

Hi Toby
We're glad those Terrors (oops, we mean Terriers) didn't hurt you or Maxmom! You were really brave when facing them!

And aren't you lucky to have warm weather for Christmas. Today we have lots of wind and cold weather (below 0 Centigrade). Wanna trade?

Hoping to read more about you and your family in the next few days before Christmas. Wishing you all a very Blessed & Merry Christmas too.

If you ever see the Lacie Beast coming, RUN! If you roll over she will just bitey your belly. She is fierce. But Miss Asta is sweet as can be. No worries.

Hey Toby,we wouldn't dream of attacking you -- or having you be submissive. We wirey guys just stop and sniff the dogs we meet on our walks --- and bark only if we are barked at first. (We save our terrierizing for toys, towels, pencils, papers, pillows, etc.)

We hope those guys don't give us all a bad name.

Wirey love,

Jake and Just Harry

Hi Toby
If we ever met I would come bouncing up to you in my customary mode of friendly enthusiasm and exuberance, and would want you to play with me, the more rumbunctious the better.
It's no fun to play with a submisssive dog!
Oh we could have such fun.
Toodle pip!

Toby, we are very glad you and MaxMom are safe! We hope someone reined those Terriers in right away.

We wish we had warm weather back! But it would be a bit odd to us to have Christmas in Summer.

Happy Holidays!

We hope you are OK after your encounter with the terriers. We think all the blog terriers are very nice and would never do something like that to you.

We are trying to do our best to keep up with the blogs too, but that cooldown is coming faster and faster for us too.

Happy Holidays to you and all of your family.

Oh Toby, we've had that happen too, and it's hard when you're such a well mannered and friendly Golden who wants to be friends with everyone and have to find out that not everyone wants to be friends with you. I'm glad you're okay and your Mom is too!! Please thank your Mom for the lovely card--I was so excited to receive it!!!

(By the way, we have a terrier

Hi Toby,

I've never met a terrier that I didn't want to play with - then again I want to play with all the dogs that I meet these days, so I go into my puppy play bow and wag my tail lots. Mum worries I've taken this tactic to the extreme as I don't hear the little growls that she sometimes hears, or see other signs that the dogs aren't such party-animals. I'm four and so far I have never been in a dog fight (just puppy play ones) so there are times that I don't understand why we have to continue on our walk or she calls me away from other dogs (when I am off-leash) but she tells me that she knows how terrifying it can be for dogs to not play nicely and try to bite, so we are both glad that you and your mom are both OK.

Sending you Christmas woofs,
Riley

I have never had to submit to a terrier, Toby, but #1 tells me they can be pretty scary! I thin you should stick to playing with Aunt Tam for now!

Poor Toby, being attacked is no fun. I can't wait to a Toby and the Tree update. Please give us one of those. I'm off now to do one on our pack and our tree. Violet has adopted the tree as her very own and she sleeps under it at night.
I like the action shot of Toby running thru the garden. He looks more like Max daily.

Oh goodness! Avalon likes going "shopping" too - for all manner of things... the smellier (dirty socks if she can find one or two and so on) the better! We are also glad those terrorizers didn't get you - what a scary moment(s)! Maxmom: have been delaying looking at Max's xmas video uptop, but just got the "courage" to view it and it is just beautiful. Of course, I'm very leaky, but Toby is being guided so wonderfully by Max - we think of Max a lot, especially when we come here, and other times, like when we visit Khyra or the Thundering Herd, where Max shared the headers for his grace period. We also totally understand about the xmas holidays... they take up a lot of blogging time!
Big Hugs xoxoxo

Pshaw! I just ignore those terrierists! I was born to be the companion of royals, I bow to no terrier! I think you need to do a very careful inspection of that tree when it gets set up, too. You'll be amazed!

You won't have to submit when you grow up to be a big boy Toby. Lady can teach you how to strut your stuff and hold your own with any dog. For now, that was probably the right thing to do. Happy Holidays from:

Your weather sounds so delightful. Its nice to visualize you swimming in your pool! Enjoy. Wow, that sounds scary on your walk. One of my fears is being attacked by a loose dog -- sounds like you did the right thing. Happy Holidays to you. We are grateful you have entered our life this year since our sweet Missy died. Thank you for sharing your sweet Max memory clips too. I like to think him and Pantera and Missy are getting acquainted.

Dear Toby
Did you see their pointy little teeth?
Yikes,,, i have never seen any terriors yet.. but I am kind of a scardy kat.... you would not be afraid of me,, i know for sure.
I hope you do not get into much mischief under that tree, and do not worry,,, Santa has golashes,, so he can get through the mud.

Thank you for the beautiful card from you and your family

Dear Toby, we're so sorry you were assaulted in broad daylight! Where were the people who are responsible for those terrierists?! Sounds like your puppy instincts served you well, although it is getting harder to tell you from Aunt Tam in your more recent photos.

Mama finally ordered us some Christmas cards, but they haven't come yet. So in the interim, let us wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Hello Mr. Toby!

I'm so glad that those terriers didn't hurt you or your mom. I think Shiver would've done the same thing. He scares pretty easily. I don't think Chico realizes how tiny he is, he'd be all up in their space just yapping away at them.

I haven't noticed blogville cooling down much but that's probably because I'm still so far behind! lol
