MAXDOG, MICROWAVES & BANNERS

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
MAXMOM here...

Talk about a walking zombie!  You guessed it...that's me!

There are only 7 weeks to go before the launch of MAXDOG and things are getting pretty hectic at this end.  I've had very little sleep in the past week few weeks, but my adrenalin is keeping me going.

My editor and I have been working solid to add the final, small, but important touches to the manuscript.  Thankfully some of my family members and friends have offered me help with the painstaking proof-reading.  We've had to sift through approximately 66 000 words with a fine tooth-comb - searching for little changes that you, my reader, will prefer and enjoy.  Not only that, but also seeking out those elusive little errors, which the casual eye simply glosses over.  The work is tense and fatiguing.   It's crucial however, that we get it perfect!  Next week, MAXDOG will be sealed up and sent off to layout design.
My 'baby' will finally be allowed to fly!

What an experience this is and has been!  I really hope that MAXDOG will be well received and that it will do what it was always meant to do.....that is....

... DO GOOD!

The good news too is that the rollout is going well.  I am very happy with its progress.  I have a fantastic editor and the cover design for the book looks excellent.  Hopefully our distributors will do their job and enable the book stores to understand the importance of this story.  The whole process is exciting  but, admittedly, very daunting.  It's been two years of hard work and now, the finish/starting line is finally in sight.  I'm having difficulty believing that my dream is about to come true.  The dream?...
... MAXDOG immortalised!

Besides the book, life at home holds even more excitement.   The crucial, final exams for my beautiful, talented young daughters are also looming.  In the next seven weeks they too will become graduates: a medical doctor and a BSc graduate (who is well on the road to becoming a vet one day).  Wow!  Are these really my daughters?  I am so proud of them and the hard work that they too have put into making their own dreams come true.

Not only this, but there's been even more excitement in our home:
The Boss has won a microwave!!!
Congratulations Boss!!!

He's so chuffed with himself - this is the first time in his life that he's actually won something - a beautiful, shiny, new DEFY microwave!  The prize has been sponsored by our local security company, BESTSURE, whose security branch (BESTSECURE) are always first on the scene when we have emergencies in our area.  They put their lives on the line daily and often go unnoticed.

To prove my point, take a look at the photograph below:
There was recently a fire in our area and they were the first on the scene.  Check them out - in the front left of the picture - securing the area off. Great work, guys!

Thank you guys, for the role you play in our community!

And thanks to our security company,"the Boss" is the winner of their monthly draw!
One problem though - the Boss is camera shy!
Yeah, you guessed again - I had to take centre stage for their official newsletter photograph, lol!

  A representative from
came around to our house yesterday to deliver "The Boss's" prize and to take a photograph
(of me and HIS microwave)
for their newsletter.

I must say that the microwave couldn't have come at a better time.  Our brand new medical doctor will soon be leaving home to start her internship and yes, you guessed...she too needs a microwave!  She'll take our old one and we'll keep the brand new one (unless she improves her negotiating skills, lol!).

Our sincere thanks go to BESTSURE for this generous gift.  It has arrived at a very appropriate time and we are most grateful!  Thank you!

---xXx---

Not only this, but the tension banner for MAXDOG has also arrived.  This is going to help me (I think) when it comes to the publicity surrounding  the book - book signings, etc.   What do you guys think? Aint this cool?...

So, all-in-all, my life feels rather surreal at the moment.  Lack of sleep, excitement, apprehension and a huge load of dauntedness - all rolled up into a neat little package of anticipation...
Toby too, wants to get in on the action...

This is going to be one long, mega-party!

Sending lotsaluv to all my readers,

I think you are going to have to plan a world tour to promote your book and meet all your dog pals in person.

That banner looks amazing.

Best wishes to your daughters for thier final exams and graduations - your daughters and you are all reaching a milestone at the same time!

I hope "the Boss" puts his prize to good use over the next seven weeks by learning how to drive the thing and cooking all the girls in the house some nice meals while you are all so busy.

Holy moley! I'm tired just reading about all of the goings-on in your neck of the woods. Good score with the microwave! Mine needs to be serviced so you can send it to me, hehehe! Congrats on have just the 'right' kinds of medical degrees in the house: a doctor and a dog-tor! WOO-HOO!

The beautiful, WARM fall weather we have been having in northern Michigan is due to leave us this week. I have been enjoying oodles of time outside with the dogs, working in the yard and gardening with my grandsons. Time to say good-bye to our warm weather and to locate my sweaters...sigh.

Let's talk soon!
