MEMORY QUILT FOR THE PITTIE PACK

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
MAXMOM here...

Hello there to all my friends around the world,

Well, it's nearly Christmas and I don't know about you, but my household is getting busier by the minute.  Baking, wrapping, Christmas trees, shopping and endless family activity.  It certainly is a time for everyone to pull together and celebrate our deep connections!

But amidst all this, my mind has been occupied by the happenings in blogville and the incredible love which is prevailing at the moment. My heart continues to want to reach out to Sandra during her time of need.  But we all feel so helpless.

Today, I thought I'd put up a picture of my own little '6 inch x 6 inch' effort towards the memory quilt which Agnes at DACHSIES WITH MOXIE is putting together for Sandra.
If you haven't heard about this project yet and would like to participate, please click
Here is the 'explanation' around my own particular little 'square' :

My 'heart-dog', ie Angel Maxdog is in the background and the blue colour of his heart is meant to blend into the 'sky'.  The 'sky' symbolises the place where all animals who have crossed the Rainbow bridge find their resting place. The sky also symbolises our connections to bloggers across the world. The four little hearts in the square represent 'us' here in South Africa - Tammy, Toffee, Toby and me (Maxmom).
My personal message attached to our little square is this:
"We are sending all our 'hearts' and love to Sandra and her family.  We are all in this together."

What a fabulous idea put together by some of the incredibly compassionate, talented and creative thinkers in blogville!  Thank you to Agnes for putting this particular quilt together.  I'll be posting my little square off tomorrow in the hope that it gets to the USA before the deadline.

Thank you to all the bloggers who have initiated the opportunity for us all to participate in these loving gestures.  I never cease to be amazed by the generosity and compassion of the bloggers in our community - not to mention those special bloggers who take it upon themselves to get the ball rolling to make something beautiful happen.
Thank you!

May I take this opportunity to wish all my friends a wonderful, happy and peaceful Christmas.  Thank you for what you have all meant to me during this past year. I cannot begin to tell you how much you continue to enrich my life.

Sending lotsaluv

Your quilt square is beautiful. We're still trying to think of something. Yours is perfect.

Just finished watching the tribute video to Max. Great job! I know that must have been very hard for you to put together with all the good memories attached to it.

I hope you don't mind, butt I talked about THIS Post.. on my Post for tomorrow... and I made a Link... so others can see and read your square and the way you wrote up the description. I thought others might use it as a template for writing THEIR explanations.

Hi Maxmom
We love your square. Thank you for sharing it with us. Maybe it will inspire others to prepare a square. Sometimes its hard to think of ideas, and we put it off- until it is too late.
I know Sandra will be so touched when she receives the quilt with everyones square.
Yours is so beautiful and meaningful- to all of us.

As always, you do just the right thing when the right thing is important. I absolutely adore your reasoning for each of the symbols, colors, words.

I cannot imagine how deeply Sandra's heart must be breaking each and every minute of the day. Fire is such a devastating loss and carries with it many horrific memories.

The day before I got the call from Mona and Weenie's mom about the fire, we had a family in southern Michigan lose their home to a fire - along with their four dogs. They had been out Christmas shopping. Sadly, they did not have their home insured as Sandra and her husband so wisely did.

Hi Caryl, yes its just wonderful. It is amazing the love and support everyone has shown the Pittie Pack family through this tragic time. I am proud of everyone. No worries, and love, Carol (and Stella and Rory)

Me and my mom are trying to think of what we're gonna send. It's kinda hard cuz my mom's not crafty and I chew up...er...I mean...my blankies just fall apart.
